Tradable SREC Markets:  Solar Renewable Energy Credits are environmental attributes that can be transacted and monetized and are the driving economic factor that makes solar financially feasible.  Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC) markets in the United States are state mandated.   Electric Power Suppliers (EPSs) need to procure SRECs to satisfy their RPS or pay the Solar Alternative Compliance Payment (SACP) which is a penalty and usually higher than the price of SRECs.

Net Metering Rules:  State mandated Net Metering rules allow consumers producing solar electricity to sell the excess solar electricity to local utilities for qualified grid-tied solar installations

Escalating Fossil Fuel Demand:  Global demand for fossil fuels is increasing while supplies are diminishing, which also comes with political and environmental risks.
